First Day of Spring Semester

Hey there fellow college freshmen! My name is Kate and I will be blogging about my various college experiences.

Please feel free to comment or share your own stories of life as a freshman.

First days are cursed. They always are, always will be. Besides the slight confusion over where to go and when and how to get there, there is always the anxiety one feels when starting something new. New people, new teachers, new schedules. Not to mention schedule changes, room changes, building changes to the schedule you haven't even looked at yet. First days are stressful.

The first day of spring semester is like the first day of tenth grade. You have different classes and different places to go but you recognize people, such as friends, teachers and staff members, and you have a general sense of where you're going.

Yet there is something about the first day of school that just does not go well. Either it be unintended lateness (me), a lack of parking (me), confusion over a classroom you did not think existed (that'd be me), or just the fact that you have double chemistry (you guess it, me again). Whatever the case, first days never go smoothly.

However, there are some upsides. For instance, you get to see friends, acquaintances and just people that you know. The good thing about declaring a major early is that you are able to have the same classes with people that you know because you all have to take the same core courses. Which is great because then I have people to study with, to talk to, to hang out with, or complain about coursework with.

As far as first days go, this first day of spring semester was the most hectic one I have ever had.
